I have unleashed a toxic tongue
and spilled unkind words that stung
I have left the earth scorched behind me
and discarded blessings like debris
I have shoveled on to life
A heavy pile of strife
I have made bridges burn
So I could never return
I can’t change the past
But I’m finally ready at last
I want to bring joy
I want to bring happiness
I want this world to see
My belief in your goodness
I want to take my pride
And push it to the side
I want to finally defeat
All my ego and conceit
I want to bring love
I want to bring light
I want to show the world
every ounce of your might
I want my voice to raise
In roaring shouts of praise
I want to hold my arms up high
And lift them toward the sky
I want to stop bringing you in pieces
I want to start bringing all of you Jesus
I have been so often cruel
And wielded bitterness as a tool
I have built a heart of stone
Around it weeds have grown
I have prisoned off my soul
To never give it parole
I have had a touch like razor wire
And a kiss like hellfire
I can’t change the past
But I’m finally ready at last
I want to bring joy
I want to bring happiness
I want this world to see
My belief in your goodness
I want to take my pride
And push it to the side
I want to finally defeat
All my ego and conceit
I want to bring love
I want to bring light
I want to show the world
Every ounce of your might
I want my voice to raise
In roaring shouts of praise
I want to hold my arms up high
And lift them toward the sky
I want to stop bringing you in pieces
I want to start bringing all of you Jesus
I want to stop bringing you in pieces
Today I will try to bring all of you Jesus
